Talaga Sampireun

Dear Mr. Cocktail,

Last Sunday I went out with my family to Telaga Sampireun to celebrate my 1year old nephew birthday. We went to this restaurant in Bintaro Sector 7 area. Telaga Sampireun, I never been/heard about this place before, it was my first time. It's the same owner/concept with Kampung Sampireun in Garut. I heard about Kampung Sampireun cus' it's unique concept and when I have the time I would really like to go there, but Telaga Sampireun.............................. here we go..

dining cottage on the man-made lake

The place is quite big, they have indoor restaurant/cafe, dining cottage, jogging track and a kids area to play.
We reserve the cottage area, with minimum payment for Rp. 500.000, approx $50 (food/drinks) but of course it its a family event, it will cost more then that.
The place is very quite, very relaxing... you can hear the water drizzle, the fishes splash. So peaceful. We order food, most of the food are seafood!!!! I love seafood!! shrimps, calamari, fish... and more! nyum

all this food.. times 2!
After we had our lunch... I sat near the lake.. watching and I start to feel a bit sleepy, afraid that I fell asleep and roll myself unconsciously towards the lake.. to keep myself awake, I start feeding all the fishes! I don't know why, but I get soooooo excited about it! (they sell the fish food, you're not allowed to fed the wish with random things from your plate) :-)

"FISHY!!!"

It was a great Sunday Family time... and can't wait for tomorrow heading to the center of Jakarta Metropolitan City with it's fresh polluted air to work....

How was your Sunday?

INAcraft 2011

Dear Mr. Cocktail,

:-D

It was a bright sunny hot day in Jakarta, perfect day to spend my long weekend outdoor...  and go to the National Museum or so I thought. but since my friend bailed on me, I went to INA CRAFT 2011 instead. I went with my cousin Ms. Ls and I know it's not the right time for me to splurge myself with handmade jewelry..(haven't got my salary yet! haha) :-P

Oh yes, Inacraft is Jakarta International Handicraft Trade Fair, which held annually in April.

So as you can imagine heaps of beautiful handicraft jewelry, bags, clothes, furniture, housewares product. It's not just from Indonesia, I saw Myanmar handmade jewelry booth etc, but I went crazy when I came across the India booth & I have to be honest.. I'm having bollywood fever... the earrings, necklace, and whatever-they-called it... is soooooo beautifuuullllllll..!! too bad since they not from around they can't accept credit card or debit card, only cash. dang! so I left the booth feeling blue..

silver handicraft

children's handicraft..

one of my fav booth! literary went crazy overboard

Me and my cousin lost track of time, until our tummy rumbling and our feet sore from walking around. The place is so big, I hardly able to wander around with both of my feet and tummy scream in protest. So we went out and it's Lunch time. We stop by at this hotdog place... and what took our attention aside from it's outside the food-court area.. I was drooling for those huge dog! hahaha
look at those!!!! NYUM
ehmm... I know what you're thinking haha
after we had our lunch we decided to end our shopping madness... we're tired, it's crazy hot out side.. our feet are sores...
I didn't come home empty handed. This is what I bought...

Oversize cobra skin clutch

Silver earrings

Sweet cream rose ring

Turquoise blue bracelet

Hope you had a great nite..

Cosmopolitan Cotton Candy Cocktail

Dear Mr. Cocktail,

It's been a busy February...

Start the new month in a new office, a new colleagues (most are men) not really a plus thing, since all of them are smokers.. I always smell like ciggies.. Yuck!

It's a new company so I have a Lot to contribute... arrange this and that. help this and that. and all the young ones calling me "Miss" hahaha..

Doesn't pay as much as my old ones... but I'm learning more here. or at least that what I'm telling myself. I hope in time, when I show my boss how hard working I am, I could get a raise. Oh! hell.. I've been working hard for this 2 weeks. I've work from 8.AM until 9 PM/10 PM/11 PM/12 PM.. heck once I even got home at 5 AM!! and just for your information.. my job it's still Legal. :-) nothing involve with prostitution :-P

meeting after meeting, bla blih bloh.
and I'm loving it. :-)
just a bit sad I can't draw or paint or read books as much as I want.
went to sleep straight after work.

***
One day,
a friend from Kuala Lumpur ask me to dine at Loewy
as busy as I am, I know I need to treat myself for something good...
I went straight to Oakwood at Mega Kuningan, which not far from where I work. Looking exhausted tired, was not feeling very sexy that day... but hell.. I need a glass of cocktail!

So, I got there and waited for my friend.
as soon as he spotted me, we went to Loewy aaaannnnd as usual, we need to wait for our table.
while waiting I ordered nachos with the salsa on the side and Cosmopolitan Cotton Candy!!!

I found out about Cosmo Cotton Candy long time ago when I went to Cork & Screw. Then the next time I was there I can't find it on the cocktail menu. They probably have removed it from their menu. So, I could never tell what it was like or taste like. But, strangely I found this pretty little drink at Loewy's.

With no hesitation I ask the waiter, "one cosmopolitan cotton candy"
I have no idea how it will look like and taste like.
but Oh Boy!! This baby is not disappointing. There's an actual Cotton candy in my cocktail glass!!! :-D
I feel like a grown-up kid.

The waiter pour the cosmo mixture on the cotton candy. (for show)
I know but I can help myself being entertain.

(I didn't bring my camera, so I used my phone camera instead)

Cosmo Cotton Candy, nachos, beer

Taste a mixture of orange, cotton candy sweet and cosmo. Taste better then a classic cosmopolitan.
 "me likey"

and after we nibble, drink, chat.
our table finally ready..

I order a Chicken Confit.
Roast chicken with beans, smoked beef, onion, garlic, potatoes and herb. The chicken was so tender I don't need my knife to cut it. Delicious! nyum!

Chicken Confit

"sorry, no picture of me please"
The food was good, the drinks was great!
A great day to end my terribly busy day..
I can't wait to have another Cosmo Cotton Candy..

Anybody care to join me?

have a great night

Dear Mr. Cocktail,

News Flash : I finally resign from my job.. and giving my resignation letter was not the hardest moment in my life. I felt free. and Yes. I also have got a new job starting the 1st of February.

***
Big news in my family this month! my younger sister is getting engage. Yey!!
Everyone is getting exited but since this is an Indonesia Traditional engagement don't expect booze laying around. It's very boring. People come to eat, gossip and our elders taking and introducing and giving advice.

I was not planning to go out later that night. I wanted to just be anti-social and sleep... but with a lot of persuasion from my friends. I went out that night.

Wearing my blue dress, grab a cab. Off I go to Immigrant.

Thought it was gonna be just another club night with my friends. Ended up one of the best night we've ever had. Everyone had a blast!! and I mean it! I don't know what made it so different.. but we just dance drink laugh. FUN.

*oh! I had a little bit of embarrassing moment. I slip on an empty beer bottle and fell elegantly. hahaha... :-D

All is well.

Great time to end the month. Full of celebration...

Durian Pancake

Dear Mr. Cocktail,

Have you heard about 'Pancake Durian'?? or Durian fruit?
Not many people like durian, xpecial foreigner. You either love it or realllyy hate it!

Durian Fruit
A lot of people can't stand the smell of this spiky fruit.. but for them who can stand the smell, oh this is sooo gud!!!
yes, ok! I am one of the freak who can eat durian. I can't stand eating stuff like worm, blood, frog, cricket, and all other weird food but YES! I have conquered The Durian! and I love it.

AND NOTE when you're eating durian! you are NOT allowed to drink ALCOHOL while eating or after. Because durian it-self contain alcohol! The mix of durian and alcohol in your system can give you heartburn/heart attack. If you still drink anyway.. well at least I try to warn (scare) you :-P
You'll get drunk if you eat to much durian and the hangover is not the same as drinking 15 shots of tequilla. trust me. I know. (not in a gud way)

Anyway..

My mum was in Medan (North Sumatra, one of the biggest island in Indonesia) recently and I ask her to bring me from Nelayan Restaurant my favorite dessert "Pancake Durian". I've tried other pancake durian from House of Durian also in Medan, but I much prefer the one from Nelayan.

Pancake? Durian?
I know.. weird innit. I think this is more like.. Crepe durian (they should call it Crepe not Pancake!).
Well it's another unique way to eat this exotic fruit :-D
I know about pancake durian when I visit Medan last year and my friends there suggest me to eat this.. and I did. And I fell in LOVE.

look like green pillow... delicious green pillow

whip cream, and durian. don't eat the seed tho'

The green crepe/pancake *whatever is made with flour and pandanus? with whip cream and durian fruit in the middle.

The combination made it so smooth and creamy. The crepe slice made it easy to eat, not as messy when you eat it without it and won't made your finger stink as much.

My sister, who also love durian, she prefer the old traditional way eating durian. Straight from the spiky thingy :-D She tried the pancake durian from House of Durian but she didn't like it.
So when I took this green delicacies out from the fridge, she can't help but wonder.. "what's that green pillow thing, look cute". I told her "pancake durian"
So she ask for half, "you can have the other half.. if I don't like it".
but at the end she finish it all.. hahaha and ask for more (damnit)

My mum only bought 2 portions. So I only have 4 pieces of pancake durian. 1 portion = 2 piece. 2 portions cost me Rp. 55.000 around 6/7 US$

:-)

I sat myself next to my sister and my mum watching the first audition of American Idol 2011 and eating my delicious pancake durian. NYUM!

Yoji "pop" Asano, laugh so hard watching him
Loving the quality time..

Have a great day
